[VIDEO - Meant to be filtered to Akatsuki but accidentally broadcasted to the whole world ] 6.1
[ Blood smears across the screen with a dirt-smudged hand, before the Hitomi is tilted upwards at its owner. Madara stares down at the camera, with fire behind his irises that is trying to burn its way right out. Behind the layers of blood and bruises and dirt is a layer of something unhinged and wild and asking for war. There he is with fire burning behind him and his lips are as torn as the rest of his appearance. ]
My dear comrades and friends, for two months I traveled this world, in search of the gods that brought us here. I have questioned for what purpose we have been brought to this place and sought to find the meaning behind the incidents that have occurred in this land before our time. I could not understand why we have been forced to exist in this small world with a handful of the very seeds of oppression that sought to choke us in the world from which we came if we are not allowed to liberate ourselves from the chains that yoked us and made us submissive and small in size, living in the shadows out of fear of being hunted and slaughtered like the animals they thought us to be.
[ Madara's gestures are large and sweeping, flourishing the rhythm of his speech. ]
I could not comprehend why we were then wedded to the people who wanted us dead, our hearts meddled with, and our convictions thwarted to a travesty of a fool's game and tragic comedy, and traveled the lands in hopes of coming across a being who could tell me why.
[ He stops for a moment then and tries to catch his breath, reaching out to a tree for support, skeins of black tumbling down all around his face. ]
I have since come across one such being, and survived a divine struggle where my mettle and worth as a true shinobi was tested. And that is why I come before you now in this worn-down appearance. I was told of the truth of this place and the war amongst the gods from before time began. I was told that we were brought here to be reshaped and remolded in the image of the gods who took away the divine, righteous rule of the earth through murder and treachery and oppressed members of their own class in their hunger for power.
The being I spoke to spoke of a war that we are torn between -- a war that has been steadily brewing and growing even in this place of illusionary peace and dreams. We have been fooled to believe that we must live in harmony and learn some higher purpose when the truth is that we have been made clay pawns on their great chess board.
A meeting about this is necessary. We must reconvene as soon as time will allow to discuss our alternatives.
There is...
[ And he pauses once more, a frown drawing down his eyebrows. ]
... much to consider. And we have wasted too much time dreaming.

[She's not surprised, exactly. His name still appeared on her contact list, after all. But it's been ages since she's heard from him - since anyone has heard from him, so far as she knows.]
Although you do look like you've seen better days.
If you need help, I'm free.
Not that I have any particular medical skill.
Come to think of it, that was sort of a pointless offer, hm?
Unless whoever you fought still needs fighting.
[Not that Yukari is itching for a fight. She's just saying.]
Speaking of which, I don't suppose you happened to catch your opponent's name, did you?

It is as I have said many times before: these beings do not desire peace.
It is unthinkable that any beings who desire peace would place me alongside those individuals who have oppressed my friends and loved ones.
It is unthinkable that any could believe that individuals such as Yukari and I would be content to sit idly by and let such oppressive forces do us harm.
Our righteousness is an aggressive righteousness.
Surely any so-called "gods" would realize this.
[ Pain is gratified to see how correct he has been.
He knew that the others who said these devices were a means to a comfortable co-existence with the enemies were simply failing to comprehend the harsh realities of the world.
The reality of the world is suffering. ]
Pain is the only path to salvation, as I have said many times before.
It frustrates me that my words are perpetually misunderstood by those who are not so enlightened as we are.
I thank you for validating that which I have long believed.
I do not know precisely what to do about this at this exact moment, but it is indeed a heavy and ponderous matter that we must assess.
